Supported Models: T31P, T43U, T48 Series, T54W, and other Yealink T7 Series phones.
If you would like to send an active caller directly to another user's voicemail without ringing their phone, follow the steps below.
Transfer a Call to Voicemail
- While on an active call, press the Transfer soft key.
- Dial *99 followed immediately by the extension number.
- Example: To transfer a caller to extension 101's voicemail, dial *99101.
- Press the B-Transfer (Blind Transfer) soft key.
The call will be transferred directly into the destination extension's voicemail box, allowing the caller to leave a message immediately.
Example
To send a caller directly to extension 205's voicemail:
- Press Transfer
- Dial *99205
- Press B-Transfer
The caller will hear the voicemail greeting for extension 205 and can leave a message.
Notes
- The destination user's phone will not ring.
- The caller is sent directly to the voicemail greeting.
- This feature works only if the destination extension has voicemail enabled.
- Use B-Transfer (Blind Transfer) rather than an attended transfer.
Why Are There Two Transfer Options
On most Yealink phones, after you press Transfer, you'll typically see two transfer options:
- B-Transfer (Blind Transfer) – Sends the call immediately without speaking to the recipient first. This is the option you use for direct-to-voicemail transfers (
*99 + extension). - Transfer (sometimes called Attended Transfer or Consultative Transfer) – Calls the recipient first so you can speak with them before completing the transfer.
For your voicemail article, I'd specifically note:
Important: After dialing *99 + Extension Number, press B-Transfer (Blind Transfer). Using an attended transfer may not send the caller directly to voicemail as intended.
